Ruan Pethiyagoda

Ruan Pethiyagoda has a diverse work experience, starting in 2004 as the Director of Operations at The CNL Company. Ruan then worked as an Investigative Journalist at Leader Publications from 2007 to 2009. Following that, they served as a Graduate Marketing Technical Specialist at Seattle University (College of Arts & Sciences) from 2009 to 2011. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as an Operations Officer at The Decadence Fund. In 2013, they joined Hack Reactor as the Chief Strategy Officer, a position they held until 2016. Ruan then transitioned to the President's Office Sri Lanka as an Advisor to the Special Presidential Task Force for Recovery of State Assets from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they became an Advisor to the Speaker at the Parliament of Sri Lanka. In 2021, they served as the CSO at Rounder before joining Kunai as the Chief Strategy Officer, a position they currently hold.

Ruan Pethiyagoda has a diverse education history. In 2004, they attended UCL and studied Computer Science for one year. Following this, from 2005 to 2007, they enrolled at the University of Nottingham and pursued Physics. Later, in 2009, Ruan began studying at Seattle University, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies in 2012. Additionally, in October 2012, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera. In 2013, Ruan attended Hack Reactor and focused on Software Engineering. Prior to their formal education, Ruan attended Colombo International School, although the specific duration or degree obtained is not provided.
