Ruth Jurgensen

Ruth Jurgensen serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees at the Brooklyn Museum and LREI, along with holding the position of Chief Executive Officer at Prep for Prep since July 2020. Kura Labs is an online academy that provides free advanced training and job placement in Cloud Infrastructure, SRE and DevOps engineering roles at Fortune 1000 and VC-backed startups for aspiring engineers from under-resourced communities across the U.S. The 500+ hours of live interactive instruction from leading industry practitioners entail extensive individual and group-based work streams building automated deployment pipelines for enterprise software applications as well as scalable cloud infrastructure.  Key Competencies Include: 1. Establishing proficiency in Linux environments with extensive use of BASH and Python to automate core processes involving resource provisioning, monitoring, security, and scaling.  2. Building and scaling automated software deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Docker (ECS), Kuberntes (EKS), Helm, and CircleCI to provision micro-service applications.  3. Leveraging Lambda and Fargate and other serverless components to selectively manage dynamic scaling of various capabilities based on business trade-off analysis.
