Andrew Philpott

Andrew Philpott is an Assistant Professor at Kwansei Gakuin University since 2012, teaching courses in Academic Writing and Presentation, Critical Media Studies, Australian Culture, and Intensive English. Research interests include L2 motivation and gamification. Previously, Andrew worked as an Assessor at the University of Southern Queensland from 2016 to 2023, evaluating graduate and post-graduate students in second language teaching and Computer-Assisted Language Learning. Andrew's earlier experience includes a Lectureship at Dokkyo University from 2010 to 2012, where a diverse range of courses was instructed. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Southern Queensland and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the same institution, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Edith Cowan University and a CELTA certification.
