Rodrigo Loza has diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Starting in 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant and a Teacher Assistant at Universidad Catolica Boliviana San Pablo Regional La Paz, where they focused on computer vision, machine learning, embedded systems, and signal processing. Rodrigo contributed to the design and development of a handheld device for automating the diagnostic process of Chagas disease.
In 2016, Rodrigo joined pfm medical ag as a Software Engineer, where they collaborated on the development of a state-of-the-art diagnostic method for pathological microorganisms. Rodrigo also worked on backend development using Django and MongoDB.
In 2018, Rodrigo became a Software Engineer at Zebra Technologies, where their main technologies were Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Python, and Java. Rodrigo played a key role in implementing event-driven microservices with Kafka and Java, as well as in establishing CI/CD practices using Jenkins and Ansible.
Rodrigo then transitioned to a Software Engineer role at Mojix in 2019. Rodrigo achieved notable accomplishments, such as designing and implementing event-driven microservices in hybrid cloud-to-edge infrastructure. Rodrigo also developed a custom load testing framework and in-memory-cache libraries in Java.
In 2017, Rodrigo briefly worked as a Mentor at Coursera, leveraging their expertise in machine learning, particularly in Logistic Regression, Neural Networks, and gradient optimization methods.
Most recently, Rodrigo served as a Software Engineer at LiveIntent, Inc. in 2022. Rodrigo contributed to various projects, including DevOps on AWS with Terraform, migrating Airflow from standalone to Kubernetes, and upgrading the Airflow codebase and custom plugins to the latest version.
Currently, Rodrigo serves as a Senior Software Engineer at KX, starting in 2022.
Rodrigo Loza began their education journey in the year 2000 and completed their Bachelor's Degree at Santa Teresa in 2012. Afterward, they pursued further studies at the Universidad Católica Boliviana from 2013 to 2018, where they engaged in research as a Student - Researcher in the field of Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. In 2017, Rodrigo also completed a Deep Learning foundations course at Udacity. Additionally, they hold several certifications, including CKAD from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) obtained in September 2022. Rodrigo has also obtained certifications in various courses, such as Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python), Python Data Structures, The Data Scientist's Toolbox, and Machine Learning, all from Coursera Course Certificates. Rodrigo's education was further enriched by completing an Advanced English course at Centro Boliviano Americano in July 2012.
