Derek Williams

Derek Williams is an experienced audio professional with a diverse background in sound engineering and technology. Currently serving as an AV Technician at Colburn School since August 2014, Derek is involved in archival recordings of orchestras and student recitals, as well as managing sound reinforcement for various programs and concerts. In addition, Derek works as an Applications Consultant and Trainer for L-Acoustics, specializing in L-ISA technology, and holds the position of Sound Mixer/Sound Designer for the Festival of Arts/Pageant of the Masters. Previous experience includes roles as an Audio Technician at the University of California, Los Angeles, and as an Audio Score Reader for the LA Philharmonic and LA Opera. Derek began their career at Vintage King Audio, providing sales support and processing significant orders. Educationally, Derek holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Azusa Pacific University and an Associate's Degree in Recording Arts Technology from Citrus College.
