Matthew Malone, CFA

Matthew Malone, CFA has over 16 years of experience in the alternative investment industry. Matthew began their career in 2005 as a Partner at Snyder Kearney, LLC, a law firm providing advice on alternative investments to private wealth clients. In 2014, they joined FS Investments as a Managing Director of Real Estate, overseeing product management of the commercial real estate division and launching the FS Credit Real Estate Income Trust, a private REIT which originates commercial real estate debt. During their time at FS Investments, they enabled assets under management (AUM) growth from $10B to $20B+ using multiple alternative investment strategies. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Opto Investments as President and Head of Investment Management.

Matthew Malone, CFA obtained their Doctor of Law (JD) from The George Washington University Law School between 2002 and 2005. Prior to this, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland between 1997 and 2001. In 2007, they obtained their Chartered Financial Analyst certification from the CFA Institute. In 2006, they obtained their Bar Admission from the State of Maryland.
