Samuel Johnson Stoever

Software Engineer at L2L

Samuel Johnson Stoever's work experience begins with their current position as a Software Engineer at L2L, which they started in 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Ingenicomm from 2017 to 2021 as a Software Engineer. During their time at Ingenicomm, they supported NASA's Space Network and worked on various projects, primarily utilizing the Ada language but also working with other languages such as Java, Lua, and Python. Samuel also took on the role of a designer and lead developer for full-stack web applications.

Before their time at Ingenicomm, Samuel held the Carl K. Seyfert Prize Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in 2009. Samuel'sresearch responsibilities included analyzing and reducing Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data, utilizing Supermongo and Python for plotting and data reduction, and correlating stellar evolution models with available data.

Prior to their fellowship, Samuel worked as a Physics/Astrophysics REU Research Student at UCLA in 2008. During this role, they developed a simulation software suite in C++ to simulate the effects of ionizing radiation from early universe objects on Hydrogen clouds in the inter-galactic medium.

In 2007, Samuel participated in the Smithsonian Minority Awards Internship at the Smithsonian Institution. Samuel worked on the Principle Of Equivalence Measurement (POEM) project at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory under Dr. Robert Reasenberg and Dr. James Phillips.

Overall, Samuel's work experience demonstrates a strong background in software engineering and research within the fields of astrophysics and physics.

Samuel Johnson Stoever completed their education chronologically as follows:

From 2002 to 2006, they attended Moses Lake Senior High School and obtained a High School degree.

Samuel then transferred to Lehigh University in 2006 and completed a year of study in Astrophysics before transferring again.

From 2007 to 2015, Samuel studied Astronomy and Astrophysics at Cornell University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree.

In addition to their formal education, Samuel obtained certifications in R Programming and The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera Course Certificates in September 2014.
