L2Tmedia was founded in 2003 by a team with experience in marketing, promotions, and business development. The team members had worked at companies such as The Patrick Dealer Group, Kraft Foods, FCB, and O'Brien Automotive Team. They also had experience in advertising, sales, and account management at companies such as Wired Magazine, Playboy Enterprises, and AltaVista. The team members had degrees from UC Santa Barbara, Northwestern University, and the University of Colorado Boulder.
