Jessica Vanderlelie is the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Students at La Trobe University. Prior to this, they held the position of IRU Vice Chancellors' Fellow at Innovative Research Universities (IRU) from July 2016 to March 2018. In this role, they were responsible for leading a collaborative approach to research, design, innovate and disseminate scalable practices to improve student outcomes across all demographics.
During their time at IRU, Jessica coordinated symposia and professional development workshops at member institutions, provided advice to member institutions and liaison with the government regarding higher education policy as it relates to student and graduate success, and provided strategic leadership to challenge thinking among IRU members about future options for learning and teaching and the implications of these for student and graduate success.
Jessica has a proven track record in improving student outcomes and is passionate about making a difference in Higher Education. Jessica is well-respected by their peers and is a recognised leader in the field.
Jessica Vanderlelie pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Placental Oxidative Stress at Griffith University. Jessica also holds a Bachelor of Health Science Honours in Assisted Reproductive Technologies and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, both from Griffith University. Jessica is certified in the Online Customer-Driven Innovation Program from Inventium.
Their manager is John Dewar, Vice-Chancellor. They work with Amalia Di Lorio - Pro Vice-Chancellor, Educational Partnerships, Chris Pakes - Pro Vice-Chancellor, Graduate & Flobal Research, and Nicolette Lee - Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Education.
