Sezin Yigit

New Initiatives at LabCentral

Sezin Yigit has worked in a variety of roles in the science and technology industry since 2009. In 2009, they began as a Graduate Research Assistant at Bogazici University. In 2011, they began as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Tufts University, where they developed a novel recombinant collagen platform and a novel recombinant silk gene delivery agent. In 2016, they became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Yale School of Medicine. In 2017, they began as a Senior Scientist at Mori, where they expanded the multidisciplinary technical team and lead the technical operations. In 2018, they became an Advisor, VP of Innovation, and Co-founder and VP of Research and Development at Mori, where they developed and managed strategy for materials R&D, food science, and manufacturing teams, and contributed to the optimization of the silk protein production for continuous and batch production. In 2022, they became an Associate Director Science Operations and Strategic Partnerships at LabCentral, an Entrepreneurial Coach at the Derby Entrepreneurship Center at Tufts University (DEC), an Innovator in Residence at The Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, and a Freelance Consultant and Panelist at Food Tech and the National Science Foundation (NSF) respectively.

Sezin Yigit has a comprehensive educational background in Chemistry. Sezin earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Boğaziçi University in 2009, followed by a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the same university in 2011. In 2016, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry & Biotechnology from Tufts University.
