Leah Matzat

Leah Matzat is a Senior Director of Research and Development Genomics at Labcorp, leading a team of 28 in Lab Automation, Molecular Biology, and LIMS Product teams since January 2024. Prior to this role, Leah served as Senior Director at Invitae from January 2016 to January 2024, where the focus was on integrating genetic testing into mainstream medical care. Leah's experience includes managing product execution in Lab Automation and Bioinformatics, leading development of the Carrier Screen product, and serving as a Senior Scientist at Bioo Scientific, where development of an RNAseq kit was a key responsibility. Leah's early career includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, specializing in next-generation sequencing, and research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where a PhD in Cell Biology was obtained.
