Rakhan Aimbetov has a diverse background in the biotechnology and research fields. Rakhan started their career as a Senior Researcher at the National Center for Biotechnology, where they focused on monitoring highly pathogenic swine fever viruses in Kazakhstan and molecular typing of Borrelia spp. Rakhan then moved on to work as a Visiting Fellow at Nazarbayev University, where they conducted postdoctoral research in the Laboratory of Molecular Mechanisms of Disease.
In 2022, Rakhan founded their own company called hack-age and also worked as an Analyst at Longaevus Technologies, Ltd. Rakhan further expanded their experience by becoming an Expert at BioExpert Network, a Lead at BioDAO, and a Fellow at VitaDAO. Rakhan also participated in the On Deck fellowship program.

Rakhan Aimbetov pursued their Ph.D. in Biotechnology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University from 2008 to 2011. Apart from this, they also studied Web3 at Alchemy University, although the specific duration and degree attained at the latter institution remain unknown.
