Jana Lesh

Jana Lesh has a diverse work experience in various fields. In 2010, they worked as an FLL Coach for the LEGO Group, where they planned and implemented robotics and engineering programs for school-aged children. From 2009 to 2014, they served as a Strategist and Community Engagement professional at SCVi Charter School, focusing on thought leadership, strategic support, and stakeholder engagement. In 2015, Jana worked as a CDF Freedom Schools Servant Leader for the Children's Defense Fund, empowering incarcerated youth through literacy and social-emotional learning. Jana joined the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in 2016 as a Controls Mechanic, responsible for maintaining and repairing process controls equipment. Later, they became the Founder and Lead of Women in Generation, an employee resource group supporting tradeswomen and advocating for workplace reforms. In 2022, Jana was selected for the Workforce Leadership Network program at Coro Southern California, where they further developed their skills as a leader in workforce development.

Jana Lesh has pursued multiple educational qualifications throughout their career. Jana completed a Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Building a Diverse Workforce from Cornell University. Jana also obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Energy Management from the New York Institute of Technology. In addition, they hold a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management from the same institution. Their undergraduate studies were focused on Organizational Leadership, and they earned a Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies (B.I.S.) degree from Arizona State University. Jana has also attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College, where they studied Process Technology and Electronics. Lastly, they completed an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Human Development and Childhood Education from the College of the Canyons.
