Ross Barrett

Co-Founder of the new Prime Unicorn Index, benchmarks performance of vc-backed Unicorns at Lagniappe Labs

Ross Barrett has over 25 years of work experience in the fields of finance, technology, and government. From 1994 to 2000, they were a Legislative Aide for the Office of United States Senator J. Bennett Johnston. In 2000, they co-founded VC Experts, Inc. and in 2003, they founded and became General Partner of BVM Capital. From 2006 to 2008, they were a Director for Esperance Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and in 2008, they became Chairman of the Board of Directors for Embera NeuroTherapeutics. In 2010, they became a Member of the Louisiana Committee of 100 and a Member of the Board of Directors for Blade Studios. In 2013, they founded and became Chairman of Second Command Digital, LLC. In 2015, they co-founded Lagniappe Labs and created the Prime Unicorn Index, which benchmarks performance of VC-backed Unicorns.

Ross Barrett attended Southern Methodist University from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a BA in Political Science and Biology. Ross then went on to LSU Law, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) from 1996 to 1999. Finally, they attended New York University School of Law from 1999 to 2000, where they earned an LLM in Taxation and Corporate Restructuring.
