Wassim Mahfouz

Wassim Mahfouz is the current CEO at LAHC- Leaders Advancing and Helping Communities. Wassim has held this position since January of 2005. Prior to that, they were the Wayne County Executive Assistant from January 2005 to December 2014. In this role, they served as a liaison between the Wayne County Executive and the community. Wassim also organized fundraising activities, implemented outreach programs, and arranged meetings between potential investors and the Department of Economic Development.

Wassim has been with LAHC since January 2002, serving first as the Senior Executive Director. In this role, they oversaw the organization's daily operations and managed a team of staff members. Wassim was instrumental in growing the organization and expanding its reach into new communities.

Under Wassim's leadership, LAHC has become a leading voice in advocating for social and economic justice. Wassim has been a driving force behind many of the organization's key initiatives, including its work to increase access to affordable housing, create opportunities for small businesses, and reduce gun violence.

Wassim Mahfouz has a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Michigan. Wassim also has Graduate Studies in Human Resources and Organizational Development from Eastern Michigan University. Wassim has a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Administration/Management from IUl.
