Charles Tomkins

Charles Tomkins has a diverse work experience in tax and finance roles. Charles most recently worked at Direct Wines as the Group Tax Director, starting in April 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of Tax at Direct Wines from July 2015 to April 2021. From July 2010 to June 2015, they worked as the Director of Finance at the same company.

Before joining Direct Wines, Charles had a career break from December 2008 to June 2010. Prior to this break, they were the Head of Tax & Treasury at Trinity Mirror Group PLC from June 2006 to November 2008. In this role, they supported a strategic review of the company and advised on tax and capital structure decisions.

Charles also has experience at BT, where they were the Head of Tax Compliance and Reporting from January 2000 to June 2006. Prior to this, they were a Tax Manager at Deloitte, providing tax services to various clients including a large listed airports operator. Charles started their career at PwC as a Tax Supervisor from August 1992 to January 1997.

Charles Tomkins attended Westminster School from 1984 to 1988. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London from 1989 to 1992.
