Elizabeth Epperson Black has a long history of work experience in the medical field. Elizabeth Epperson began their career in 1985 as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Lakeshore Hospital. In 1988, they moved to Sebastian River Medical Center where they held the roles of Administrative Laboratory Director, Lead Technologist Blood Bank, and Registered Nurse- IV - PICC. In 2001, they became a Registered Nurse- Mother/Baby at Lawnwood Regional. In 2019, they took on the role of Interim Director at Lake City Medical Center. In 2020, they worked as a Medical Technologist at UF HEALTH MEDICAL LAB - SHANDS HOSPITAL. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Laboratory Director at Lake Butler Hospital.

Elizabeth Epperson obtained a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nurse from Grand Canyon University in 2013, an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Indian River State College in 2000, and an Associate of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist from Lake City Community College in 1986.
