Karin Holen Coon

Karin Holen Coon is an accomplished strategic planner with extensive experience in transportation and land use planning. Currently serving as a Strategic Planner at Lake Macquarie City Council since August 2022, Karin previously held several significant roles at Bane NOR from 2015 to May 2022, including Senior Planner for major railway projects such as Hamar station and the Oslo Railway Tunnel. Notable contributions include optimizing technical plans while addressing environmental considerations in areas of international importance and developing comprehensive planning proposals for extensive railway infrastructure. Karin's career began as a Landscape Architect at Ramboll, focusing on transport planning, urban planning, and environmental impact assessments. Academically, Karin holds a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture with a minor in Land Use Planning from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and has also pursued studies in History of Arts and Psychology from the University of Oslo and the University of Newcastle.
