Luis Daniel Lugo

Luis Daniel Lugo is an accomplished medical professional currently serving as an APDIM Councilor for the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine since March 2024 and a Committee Member for the American College of Physicians since September 2023. As Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency at Lakeland Regional Health-Florida since March 2022, Luis has demonstrated leadership in medical education. Previous roles include a Physician Fellow in Cardiovascular and Renal at Bayer and Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke's. Luis has made significant contributions at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Physician Advisor and Clinical Assistant Professor, alongside duties at SUNY Downstate Medical Center as Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency. Experience as an Internal Medicine Resident-Physician was obtained at Roger Williams Medical Center. Early in his career, Luis taught chemistry at Colegio Ponceño and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Saba University School of Medicine from 2010 to 2014.
