Stephanie Vanderkooi

Chief Operating Officer at Lakeshore Regional Entity

Stephanie VanDerKooi began their work experience in 2000 as a Community Development Director at the American Cancer Society. After that, they worked as a Program Director at the American Lung Association from 2003 to 2004. In 2004, they joined Pathways, MI as a Prevention Specialist, and then moved on to the Ottawa County Health Department in the same year, where they worked as a Health Educator until 2012. From 2012 to 2017, they worked as a Prevention Coordinator at Lakeshore Regional Partners. Currently, they are employed at Lakeshore Regional Entity, starting in 2017 as a Substance Use Disorder Director, and later became the Chief Operating Officer in July 2021.

Stephanie VanDerKooi obtained their Bachelor's degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University, where they studied between 1996 and 2000. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Health from Walden University, completing their studies from 2005 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Stephanie also obtained a certification as a Certified Prevention Specialist-Michigan from the Michigan Certified Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) in January 2007.
