Chris Magazzeni

Chris Magazzeni is an experienced investment director and leader in the aerospace and defense sectors, currently serving as Investment Director - Special Projects at Lakestar, focusing on technologies that protect European democracy. Chris co-founded and co-chairs the UK Defence Investor Network and is a member of the European Defense Investor Network. Previously, roles included Associate at IQ Capital, where investments targeted areas such as space and advanced manufacturing, and Research Fellow at the European Space Agency, developing tools for advanced manufacturing in space. Academic achievements include a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Oxford, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. In addition to leadership roles, Chris has an extensive background in advising and supporting startups within the aerospace and defense landscape, as well as participation in entrepreneurial initiatives.
