Michael Hartman

Chief Executive Officer at LAMOILLE COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE

Michael Hartman is the current Chief Executive Officer at LAMOILLE COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Behavioral Health from October 2013 to January 2020. In this role, they provided clinical oversight of Adult Mental Health, Emergency Services, and Alcohol Crisis Beds. Michael also served as a member of senior management team, with a focus on integrative health/behavioral health, quality improvement, and program development.

From May 2011 to October 2013, Hartman worked as the State Operations DIrector for APS Healthcare/UAM. In this role, they worked with the state Medicaid authority to develop integrated health strategies for members with high cost/high risk health conditions. The program worked directly with beneficiaries, providers, and institutions to coordinate care services, particularly special needs populations. APS had contracted with the Department of VT Health Access since 2007 for operation of the VT Chronic Care Initiative.

Hartman began their career in 2007 as the Commissioner for the Vermont Department of Mental Health. In this role, they were responsible for the overall operation of the Department of Mental Health. Michael oversaw a budget of $180 million and a staff of 1200 employees.

Michael Hartman has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Literature from Goddard College and a Master of Social Work in health/mental health from the University of VT.
