Joshua Mertz

Joshua Mertz is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and development, currently serving as the Director of Research & Development at LaMotte Company since January 2025. Previously, Joshua held the position of Director of Research and Development - Adsorbents at Graver Technologies, LLC from August 2017 to January 2025 and managed the Ion Specific Media Product Line at Veolia Nuclear Solutions from May 2014 to August 2017. As a Senior Scientist at Kurion, Inc., Joshua had significant involvement in projects related to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant and various commercial nuclear power plant projects. Joshua earned a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Northwestern University, where research focused on developing new compounds for ion-exchange applications. Additional experience includes coaching fencing and working in various scientific and educational roles, showcasing a diverse skill set spanning scientific research, technical support, and instruction.
