Lance Gibbins

Lance Gibbins has a strong background in the insurance and financial sector. Lance currently serves as the Executive Chair at Occam Underwriting since August 2021 and was previously the Chairman and CEO from 2018 to 2021. Prior to Occam Underwriting, Lance was the Non-Executive Chairman at First Title Insurance plc starting in October 2017. Lance also held the position of Senior Independent Non-Executive Director at Lancashire Insurance Group from June 2016. Before that, Lance worked at Montpelier Re Holdings as the CFO and COO from September 2012 to February 2016. Lance was a key member of the executive management team at Montpelier Re Holdings, a renowned reinsurance group. Lance also has experience as CFO and Board Director of Alterra Capital Holdings Ltd., where they oversaw the Lloyd's operations and was responsible for the Latin American operations. Lance Gibbins began their education at Cheltenham Grammar School in Cheltenham from 1976 to 1983. After completing their secondary education, they attended the University of Exeter from 1983 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Many years later, in 2011, Lance pursued further education at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for a year, taking Politics & History courses.
