Barbara Pilkington

Barbara Pilkington has dedicated their career to Quaternary Science, holding various positions at universities across the UK. Barbara began their career as a Lecturer at the University of East Anglia in January 1987 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in Quaternary Science in September 2000. In January 1985, they took on a Natural Environment Research Council Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, Department of Geophysics. In their current role as Interim Executive Officer at Lancaster University, Barbara is responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership for the university.

They are on a team with Paul Connolly - Executive Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Louise Heathwaite - Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research & Enterprise, and Jo Rycroft-Malone - Executive Dean, Faculty of Health & Medicine. Barbara Pilkington reports to Andy Schofield, Vice-Chancellor.
