Rob Meng

Software Engineer at LanceDB

Rob Meng has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Rob started their career as a SDE intern at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2017. Later, they worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University, where they focused on cloud system research. After that, they joined Amazon Web Services as a Software Development Engineer and worked there for a year.

In 2019, Rob joined Cruise as a Software Engineer and was later promoted to Senior Software Engineer. During their time at Cruise, they gained experience in working on software development projects.

In 2021, Rob joined Coinbase as a Spark Wizard, where they worked on the web3 Data as a Service (web3 DaaS) project. Rob also contributed to building the parallelized CI flow for the python monorepo at Coinbase.

In 2022, Rob joined Hudson River Trading as a Data Software Engineer. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at LanceDB (YC W22) since 2023. The details of their roles and responsibilities at LanceDB are not provided.

Rob Meng attended the Colorado Rocky Mountain School from 2010 to 2014 and obtained their High School Diploma. Rob then attended The Johns Hopkins University from 2014 to 2017 and earned a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Computer Science.
