Ysbrand Galama

Ysbrand Galama has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. From 2009-2013, they served as a Sailing Instructor at Watersportcentrum Sloterplas. During this time, they were responsible for teaching students the skills needed to sail, as well as creating lesson plans and providing entertainment during summer sailing camps. From 2013-2018, Galama worked as a Teaching Assistant and Tutor at the University of Amsterdam, where they were responsible for helping students during their practicals, grading their work, and giving small lectures. In 2014, they served as Chairman of SDV AmsterDance, where they were responsible for organizing various dance activities and maintaining contact with other organizations. From 2015-2016, they were Secretary of the Education Committee Artificial Intelligence UvA. Finally, from 2016-2023, they worked as a R&D Senior Software Engineer at TomTom and as a Data Scientist at Land Life.

Ysbrand Galama obtained their VWO from Vossius Gymnasium between 2004 and 2010. Ysbrand then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science - BS in Kunstmatige Intelligentie from the University of Amsterdam between 2011 and 2015. Ysbrand followed this up with a Master of Science - MS in Artificial Intelligence from the same university, which they completed between 2015 and 2017.
