Emily Nicholson

Emily Nicholson serves as the Executive Director of the Land of Sky P20 Council since November 2021. Previously, Emily held multiple roles at the Northeastern Workforce Development Board, including Assistant Director and Business Services Representative & Economic Development Coordinator, from March 2015 to October 2021. Prior experience includes working as an Educational Consultant in Social Sciences for the NC State Office of Urban Affairs and Community Service and serving as a Graduate Intern at the Small Business, Technology & Development Center. Emily began their professional journey as a History Teacher in Bertie County Schools and held positions in economic development and finance, notably as a Deputy Finance Director for the North Carolina Democratic Party-House Committee. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University.
