Nathan Ramsey

Nathan Ramsey has an extensive and diverse work experience. Nathan began their career as a Chairman of the Board of Commissioners at Buncombe County Government from December 2000 to December 2008. After that, they worked as an Attorney at Law at Blanchard Newman & Blackwell and Blackwell Law Firm from February 2010 to July 2015. In 2013, they served as a State Representative for District 115 in the North Carolina General Assembly. From August 2015 to December 2015, they worked as a Business Services Representative at the NC Department of Commerce.

In 2016, Nathan became the Director of the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board, where they worked until their role as Executive Director at Land of Sky Regional Council. Nathan served as the Interim Executive Director from December 2019 to February 2020, and then transitioned to the role of Executive Director in February 2020.

Before pursuing their career in government and law, Nathan Ramsey was a Dairy Farmer at Mountain Woodlands LLC, starting from October 1992. Overall, they have a diverse background, ranging from farming to legal and political roles.

Nathan Ramsey completed their education as follows: Nathan obtained a High School Diploma from AC Reynolds High School in 1986. Afterwards, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the University of North Carolina Asheville from 1986 to 1989. Nathan then went on to earn a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law from 1989 to 1992. Additionally, they are a Licensed Attorney through the NC State Bar.
