Carl McOnie is a seasoned leader in safety training and emergency management, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Land Search and Rescue New Zealand since July 2018. McOnie also holds directorial positions at the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council and Vertical Horizonz New Zealand, where the focus is on empowering revolutionary change in safety training for various sectors. Previously, McOnie was a director at AAWLtd and a member of the Board of Trustees for Amateur Radio Emergency Communication. With extensive experience in training and development, McOnie has contributed to organizations such as the Tauranga (BOP) Hearing Association and the New Zealand Association for Training and Development. Academic qualifications include a Master of Business Administration with Honours and multiple certifications in management, adult education, and occupational health and safety.
