Marcia Cornell

National Vice President, Health Services at Landmark Health

Marcia Cornell has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Marcia began their career at Summit Medical Center as a Case Manager, where they were responsible for managing the plan of care for hospitalized patients, reviewing clinical criteria for admission and level of care assignment, and performing discharge planning activities. Marcia then worked as a Utilization Review Nurse at American Health Holding, where they led a team in medical management and utilization review activities.

Marcia joined HealthSpring in 2006 and held various positions with increasing responsibilities, including Supervisor, Manager, and Director of Health Services. In this role, they managed and developed a team, implemented strategies, and was involved in budget and policy management. Marcia then transitioned to Cigna-HealthSpring as the VP of Health Services, providing leadership to a team of over 140 employees and partnering with the senior team on strategic planning initiatives.

In 2014, Marcia joined Optum as the Senior Director of Complex Care Management, where they provided clinical leadership and support to a multi-disciplinary team in a call center environment. Marcia focused on developing and implementing care management initiatives for complex patients while reducing utilization and cost.

Marcia's most recent position is with Landmark Health, where they have held multiple roles. Marcia started as the Regional Director of Clinical Operations, then became the Regional Vice President of Health Services, and currently serves as the National Vice President of Health Services.

Throughout their career, Marcia has demonstrated expertise in health services leadership, strategic planning, quality improvement, and member satisfaction. Marcia has experience in both commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans.

Marcia Cornell has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Chamberlain, College of Nursing. Marcia also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. Additionally, they have obtained certifications including CCMC, Certified InterQual Trainer from 2007-2013, and Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS).
