Laura Poore CUA, UXMC

Laura Poore CUA, UXMC has extensive work experience in the field of user experience design and digital strategy. Laura most recently served as the Director of Information Technology at Landus starting in March 2023. Prior to that, Laura worked as the Digital Strategy and UX Manager at NCMIC Group, Inc. from September 2019 to August 2022. In this role, they managed all digital platforms and led the evolution of the company's digital user experience design. Laura also promoted a user-centric design philosophy and aligned UX activities to business priorities.

Before their role at NCMIC Group, Laura worked as a Front-End Web Developer and User Experience Designer III at the same company from February 2014 to September 2019. Laura analyzed existing web applications for accessibility and UI/UX issues and provided workable solutions. Laura also analyzed future designs and provided feedback to ensure accessible designs and specifications for new features.

Laura's previous experience includes roles at Iowa Student Loan, Principal Financial Group, Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Principal Financial Group, and ITS, Inc. (SHAZAM). At Iowa Student Loan, they served as the Web Team Leader and Usability & Accessibility Analyst from November 2007 to November 2014, where they promoted user experience design methodologies and applied usability standards. At Principal Financial Group, they worked as a Web Consultant - Lead and Usability Analyst from October 2006 to November 2007, monitoring electronic communication trends and establishing goals and technical specifications. At Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Laura served as the Lead Web Consultant and Usability Analyst from 2003 to 2006, conducting usability testing and presenting ideas to stakeholders. Laura also worked at Principal Financial Group as a Senior Technical Writer and Senior Web Coordinator from October 1999 to January 2003, assisting with design, production, and maintenance of websites and technical publications. Earlier in their career, Laura worked as a Project Manager at ITS, Inc. (SHAZAM) from December 1995 to October 1999, overseeing bankcard program conversions and ATM system implementations.

Laura Poore CUA, UXMC completed their high school education at Webster City High School from 1985 to 1988, earning a High School Diploma. Laura then pursued their Bachelor's degree in English Writing at Loras College from 1988 to 1992, graduating with a Bachelor of Art. In addition to their formal education, Laura has also obtained certifications to further enhance their expertise in user experience. Laura earned a Usability Analyst Certificate from Human Factors International in September 2006. Recently, in April 2022, they obtained a UX Master Certificate from the Nielsen Norman Group.
