Joanne Abshire

Joanne Abshire is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience managing external communications in the education sector and raising awareness of humanitarian efforts. Currently serving as the Communications Manager for Langley School District #35 since February 2019, Joanne focuses on brand management and storytelling. Prior roles include Communications & Public Engagement Coordinator at the Canadian Red Cross, where awareness was increased through events targeting specific demographics in BC and Yukon, and reporter/anchor for Rogers Broadcasting, covering a wide range of news topics. With a strong foundation in journalism from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of British Columbia, Joanne possesses a diverse skill set developed through various positions across broadcasting and public service.
