Cynthia Chassigneux

Cynthia Chassigneux is a partner at Langlois Lawyers’ Montréal office. She has particular interest in personal information protection. Her vast experience not only allows her to understand the various issues that may arise throughout the life cycle of personal information, but also those related to biometrics, artificial intelligence, confidentiality incidents, governance, health research, cross-border data flows and video surveillance. Her practice covers both public bodies and businesses.

Prior to joining the firm, Cynthia worked for more than ten years at the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, including six years during which she was assigned to the monitoring section.

Cynthia holds a doctorate and a post-doctorate in law and holds the CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) certification awarded by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She is the author of several publications (books, articles) and has participated in several conferences in Europe, Asia, Africa and Canada. She has also been a lecturer at both Université de Montréal and Université de Sherbrooke.
