Channa de Silva

Channa de Silva serves as the Chief Executive Officer of LankaPay since December 2015, leading the operator of Sri Lanka’s National Payment Network. In addition, Channa holds multiple leadership positions including Chairman of the Board of Directors for Fintech Forum Sri Lanka, Member of the Board of Directors for Central Depository Systems (Pvt) Limited and Sri Lanka CERT|CC, and a member of the NCA Task Force for the National Certification Authority. Previous experience includes roles as Senior Vice President at Thakral One and Deputy General Manager at IBM, as well as Director positions at Microsoft managing both the Public Sector and Enterprise business units. Channa's entrepreneurial journey began with significant contributions to Lanka Internet, the country's first internet and e-commerce services provider. Channa holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University at Buffalo, along with a Master of Business Administration from the Postgraduate Institute of Management.
