Mike Walton

Mike Walton has extensive work experience in various roles within the human resources and legal fields. Mike currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Lansing Building Products, a position they have held since November 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President of Strategy at the same company from November 2019 until November 2020.

Before joining Lansing Building Products, Mike held several positions at Altria, starting in 2007. These roles included Senior Director of Section Sales, Senior Director of Talent Development, Director of Human Resources (Business Partner), Director of Compliance and Integrity, Director of HR Investigations & Employment Practices, and Senior Labor and Employment Counsel. In this role, they provided in-house legal advice on labor, employment, and real estate matters, managed outside counsel for litigation, and played a key role in Altria's acquisition of U.S. Tobacco in 2009.

Prior to Altria, Mike worked as a Labor & Employment Attorney at Hunton & Williams LLP from 2000 to 2007. Mike also served as a Judicial Clerk at the United States District Court from 1999 to 2000.

Mike Walton has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from the University of Richmond. Additionally, they hold a certification as a World 50 Next Leader from World 50, Inc. and is a licensed attorney through the Virginia State Bar.
