Chris MacKersie is the current Executive Director of Administrative Services at Lansing Community College. Prior to this, Chris held various positions at Pierce College District from 1991 to 2017, including Associate Director of Facilities and Director of Safety, Security, & Emergency Preparedness. In these roles, Chris oversaw Maintenance, Grounds, Custodial, Parking, Campus Safety, Occupational Safety, and Emergency Preparedness, while also supervising approximately 70 employees.
Before their time at Pierce College District, Chris served as a Senior Sales Representative at Basecamp Supply from 1989 to 1991. Chris began their professional career in 1986 as a Sergeant in the Army Ranger division of the 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Army. Chris served in this role until 1989.
Chris MacKersie has a Doctor of Education from Ferris State University, a Master of Business Administration from Brandman University, a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Washington Tacoma, and an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Pierce College. Chris MacKersie is also certified by FEMA in IS-75, IS-100.HE, IS-00120.a, IS-200, ICS-300, ICS 400, IS-450, IS-700, IS-800, IS-907, LO363, L0146, MGT-314, MGT-315, MGT-324-C, MGT-361, KO146, G-427, ATC 20-1, and CERT.
They are on a team with Tonya Bailey - Chief Diversity Officer, Toni Glasscoe - AVP, External Affairs, Development & K-12 Ops, and Mathew Fall - Executive Director, Center For Data Science. Chris MacKersie reports to Steve Robinson, President.
