Eric Bass has extensive work experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly in research and development (R&D) roles. Eric is currently the Vice President of R&D at Lantronix, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Intrinsix Corp. from 2019 to 2023 as the Director of Strategic Programs.

Before their time at Lantronix and Intrinsix Corp., Bass held multiple roles at Microsemi Corporation from 2011 to 2018. Eric served as the VP of R&D for the Voice and POE Divisions, where they managed R&D departments for two business units, overseeing product and technology roadmaps and contributing to revenue growth and cost reduction strategies. Eric also worked as the Sr. Director of R&D for the CMPG Voice Division, responsible for developing product and technology roadmaps to support growth and cost reduction strategies. In addition, they served as the Fellow/Manager of Advanced Development, where they managed a team focusing on technical and competitive analysis, wrote reports, and visited customers and potential partners.

Prior to their time at Microsemi Corporation, Bass worked at Zarlink Semiconductor from 2001 to 2011. Eric held the role of Fellow/Manager of Systems Group, leading teams in developing specifications and architectures for new products. Eric also worked as an MTS/SMTS/Engineering Fellow, where they acted as the lead architect, system designer, and program manager for a new generation/architecture SLIC/SLAC voice chipset.

Earlier in their career, Bass worked at Clearecube from 1998 to 2000 as a Senior Engineer, focusing on analog ASIC design. Eric designed various circuits and systems related to video signals and transmission. Eric also worked at Schlumberger from 1996 to 1998 as an Engineer III, where they designed and built a nuclear porosity logging tool adapter.

Eric Bass has a strong education background in the field of Electrical Engineering. Eric received their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo in 1988. Eric then went on to pursue higher education at Penn State University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1988 to 1992. Eric continued their studies at Penn State and completed a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from 1988 to 1995.

In addition to their academic achievements, Eric also holds a Professional Engineer certification from the State of Texas, which was obtained in 1997.
