Irma Kuukasjarvi has extensive experience in corporate communications and marketing. Irma began their career at Norrfrys AB (now known as Polarica Group Ltd) as an Administrative Assistant, handling international correspondence, accounting, and logistics. Irma then worked at SSC - Swedish Space Corporation (Esrange) as a Secretary, handling translations, administrative tasks, and assisting with rocket and balloon launching research campaigns. Irma later joined Satellitbild AB, where they developed the customer services function and worked in marketing, including sales support and production of marketing materials. At the University of Lapland, Irma served as a Communications Manager, leading a team of communication professionals and overseeing internal and external communications, media relations, and event organization. Currently, Irma is the Head of Group Communications at Lappset Group Oy, where they are responsible for the development and operations of the group's communications, brand management, and sustainability and social responsibility.
Irma Kuukasjarvi has a diverse education history. Irma obtained a Master's Degree in Economics and Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from the University of Oulu in 2012. Irma also pursued coaching studies at Lapland Summer University in 2015. Furthermore, they completed Communication and Media Studies at the University of Orebro, Sweden in 1990. Irma also enrolled in VIA Leadership Training in 2014. Irma has studied English, French, and German languages and literature at Umeå University. Currently, Irma Kuukasjarvi is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organizational Leadership at the University of Lapland, with a target degree of PhD. In 2021, they participated in a Change Communications program at the Institute of Internal Communications.
