Concrete Pumper Operator

LaPrairie Works Inc., leader in highway and bridge maintenance and civil construction in Alberta is hiring a Concrete Pumper Operator to join our new concrete and aggregate division in Slave Lake, Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating our concrete pumping equipment, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. This position requires a strong understanding of the equipment and the ability to troubleshoot any issues that may arise. The ideal candidate will have experience in the concrete pumping industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre and post trip inspection including checking oil, antifreeze, boom, etc.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment, such as hoses, blow out ball, etc. are available.
  • Fill water tank at the water station.
  • Correspond with dispatch on job site information and address.
  • Drive pump truck to job sites in a safe manner.
  • Put down outrigger pads and extend outriggers leveling pump.
  • Unfold boom and attach hoses as needed.
  • Uncover the hopper and prime pump with water.
  • Operation of remote-control console to control flow of product.
  • Guide trucks back to pump hopper and direct concrete into hopper.
  • Keep a clean and tidy truck both inside and out.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience with operating a concrete pump truck or mixer truck.

  • Motivated, physically fit, and capable of heavy lifting.

  • Must have current Class 3 or Class 1 license, with air brakes and clean driving abstract.

  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round, in all temperatures and weather conditions.

  • Must have own reliable transportation.

  • Must have good communication skills.

  • Must be able to work independently and have awareness and assessment skill in an ever-changing work environment.
