Job description

L'Arche Erie provides a wonderful opportunity to share life with adults with intellectual disabilities. We attend to daily living responsibilities and personal care/needs of the core members (residents) in a home setting. We discover the value and gifts of each person through our mutual friendships and time spent together. We change hearts one at a time---the next one could be yours!

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assisting individuals with daily living tasks including personal care
  • Assure safety measures of the home are carried out
  • Assist in the implementation of Support plans and adherence to State Regulations
  • Remain awake during scheduled hours
  • Daily documentation and upkeep of records
  • Medication Administration
  • Cooking
  • Upkeep of the home/vehicles
  • Provide transportation
  • Participate in meetings of the house, team and community
  • Meet all training/in-service requirements as well as L'Arche formations
  • Encourage and participate in daily home activities, social outings, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Criminal History/Clearances and Driving Record
  • Experience working with persons with Intellectual disabilities
  • Positive, caring attitude
  • Promptness, dependability and flexibility

Schedule and placement in the home may fluctuate. Schedules are created to meet the needs of the home.
