Jose Valerio Neurosurgeon

Jose Valerio is a highly experienced Neurosurgeon with a strong background in neurosurgery, oncology, and spine surgery. Jose has held various leadership roles, including Medical Director at Larkin Community Hospital and Neurosurgery Chair at Palmetto General Hospital. Jose also served as CEO at Biscayne Plaza Surgical Center. With a career spanning over twenty years, they have worked at reputable institutions such as Cleveland Clinic, Miami Neuroscience Center, and Steward Health Care.

Jose Valerio, a Neurosurgeon with an MBA, MIBS, FACS, FAANS, started their educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geology/Earth Science from La Salle in 1988. Jose then pursued their Medical Doctor degree at the University Autonoma Of Guadalajara from 1989 to 1995. Subsequently, they specialized in Neurosurgery at National Medical Center XXI Century IMSS from 1995 to 2000. Their postgraduate studies include a Post Doc fellowship in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland Case Western Reserve University (2002-2005), Clinical Fellowships in Neurosurgical Oncology (2005-2010) and Spine Surgery (2010) at Cleveland Clinic. Jose continued their education at The George Washington University School of Business, obtaining an MBA in Healthcare (2016-2017), followed by several certifications in Financial Management (2018-2019) and Investment and Portfolio Management (2018-2020). Finally, they completed a Master's in Interdisciplinary Business Studies (MIBS) at The George Washington University School of Business from 2018 to 2021. Jose is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, achieving this recognition in 2013.
