Stephen James

Stephen James has a diverse work experience in the real estate and architecture industries. Stephen is currently working as the Chief Visioning Officer at Larry H. Miller Real Estate since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Vice President of Planning & Community Design at the same company from 2021 to 2023. Before joining Larry H. Miller Real Estate, Stephen worked as the Director of Design at Daybreak Communities from 2016 to 2021, where they collaborated with designers, builders, and commercial developers to implement smart growth strategies. Stephen also served as the Manager of Planning & Community Design at Rio Tinto/Kennecott Land Development from 2003 to 2016. Stephen's earlier experience includes working as the Director of Design at Design West Architecture from 2001 to 2003, and as a Designer/Intern Architect at HGA from 1996 to 2001.

Stephen James received a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies + German from the University of Utah in 1996. Prior to that, they pursued Industrial Design + German at Brigham Young University from 1989 to 1992. Stephen later attained a Master of Architecture degree in Architecture + Urban Design from the University of Minnesota between 1996 and 1998.
