Michael Echols

Vice President Global Cyber Security Strategy at Las Vegas Sands

Michael Echols has extensive experience in the field of cyber security. Michael started their career in 2013 as the Chief Information Security Officer at Maricopa County. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the county's information security efforts.

In 2016, Echols joined Las Vegas Sands Corp. as the Director of Global Vulnerability Management & Penetration Testing. Michael then progressed to the position of Executive Director of Global Cyber Security Strategy in 2017 and later became the Vice President of Global Cyber Security Strategy in 2019. During their time at Las Vegas Sands Corp., Echols contributed to the development and implementation of cyber security strategies for the company's resorts, which included luxury accommodations, gaming, retail, dining, and entertainment facilities.

In 2021, Echols joined Stride Henderson as part of their premium treadmill studios, where they apply their expertise to help clients achieve their mental and physical fitness goals.

Michael Echols has a diverse education history. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, where they studied from 1995 to 1998. In 2003, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, completing the program in 2005.

Michael also engaged in executive education at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2018, where they participated in The Innovative Technology Leader Program.

In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained certifications to augment their skill set. Michael achieved the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in May 2008. Furthermore, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification from (ISC)² in May 2005.
