Michelle Brechtelsbauer

Michelle Brechtelsbauer is the current Head of Strategy and UK Programme Lead at Last Energy. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Associate for the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI) at the Institute for Defense Analyses from April 2015 to March 2019. There, they specialized in energy policy (particularly nuclear energy), earth observations, technology transfer, desalination and water policy, natural disaster response and resilience, and interagency strategic planning.

Before working at the Institute for Defense Analyses, Michelle worked at the Energy Impact Center where they were responsible for developing and managing programs that created awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and its benefits.

Michelle has a wealth of experience in the energy sector and is passionate about developing policies and initiatives that create a more sustainable world.

Michelle Brechtelsbauer has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from The University of Alabama. Michelle is currently a graduate student in chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the future, they plan to pursue a career in science and technology policy and earn a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan.
