Jorge Pontigo

Jorge Pontigo has a diverse work experience. Jorge currently holds the position of Jefe Transformación Digital - VP Operaciones at LATAM Airlines since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as Lider Mejora Continua at Cencosud S.A. from December 2021 to June 2022.

Jorge also has previous experience at LATAM Airlines, where they held various roles including Jefe Transformación Digital - VP Mantenimiento from September 2019 to December 2021, Analista Lean I+D from August 2018 to August 2019, and Analista Mejora Continua from May 2017 to July 2018.

Before joining LATAM Airlines, Jorge worked as a Profesor Auxiliar at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María from August 2016 to July 2017. Jorge also served as a Profesor Auxiliar at Universidad Diego Portales from March 2011 to July 2017, teaching a range of subjects related to mathematics and engineering.

Jorge started their career as a Practicante en Komatsu Cummins Chile Ltda. as a Practicante profesional for two months in January and February 2014. Jorge also had a brief role as a Practicante pre-profesional at Endesa in January and March 2012.

Jorge Pontigo completed their Master en Ciencias de la Ingeniería (M.Sc.) at Universidad de Chile from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Ingeniería Civil Industrial from Universidad Diego Portales, where they also completed a Diplomado en Políticas de Transporte y Desarrollo Urbano in 2014-2015. In addition to their formal education, Jorge has obtained certifications in Design Thinking: Facilitación de procesos de trabajo and Pensamiento estratégico from LinkedIn, as well as a 5+ DMAIC Certification from McKinsey & Company. Jorge also completed a course in Getting Started with Google Kubernetes Engine through Coursera.
