Miryam Lazarte has a diverse range of work experience. Miryam is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of LatAm Startups, where they focus on seeking funding and strategic growth for the organization. Under their leadership, LatAm Startups has formed partnerships with the City of Toronto, become a member of the National Angel Capital Organization, and obtained funding from various levels of government.
In addition to their work at LatAm Startups, Miryam Lazarte has held various other roles. Miryam has been a Member of the Program Advisory Committee at Seneca College since 2017. Prior to that, they were the VP of Business Development and Co-Founder at Go South! Consulting Inc., where they specialized in connecting Canadian high-tech companies with infrastructure projects in Latin America.
Miryam Lazarte also has experience in event planning and logistics, as they served as a Logistic Partner for Procolombia and organized the Colombia ICT Matchmaking Forum in Toronto in 2015. Miryam has also been a Keynote Speaker at the Crea Honduras event, which promotes technology and innovation in Honduras.
Before their current roles, Miryam Lazarte worked at Terra Remote Sensing, where they managed contracts, conducted marketing research in various countries, and handled shipping logistics. Miryam also worked as an Import/Export Administrative Assistant at In Creation Inc., a wholesaler specializing in Indian products, and as a Founder and Co-owner of Fundacion del Pacifico, a family-owned business providing insurance and pension fund management services.
Throughout their career, Miryam Lazarte has demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for promoting business opportunities between Canada and Latin America.
Miryam Lazarte has a diverse education background. In 1994-1998, they attended Academia de Dibujo Profesional, where they obtained a degree in Graphic Design. From 2003-2008, they pursued their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in International Business and Finance at Universidad Santiago de Cali. In 2011, they further enhanced their skills by completing the CSCB Introduction to Customs program at CSCB. In 2012, Miryam Lazarte acquired a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Victoria, specializing in Project Management.
