Dan Kneip

Dan Kneip is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in firmware and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Firmware Engineer at Latch since March 2021, Dan leads and mentors a firmware engineering team while actively participating in the Connectivity Standards Alliance Matter Technical and Certification Subgroups. Prior to this role, Dan spent 14 years at Flex in various leadership positions, including Principal Systems Engineer and Software Development Manager, where responsibilities included managing technical teams and overseeing the development of medical products. Dan's career began at SRI Product Development, where leadership in software team efforts contributed to medical device products before the acquisition by Flex. Dan holds a double Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a Graduate Certificate in Executive and Professional Coaching from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas.
