Soheil Barakat, P. Eng, is a seasoned hardware and systems engineer with extensive experience in the automotive and electrical engineering sectors. Currently serving as a Hardware Engineer at Latitude AI since February 2023, Soheil focuses on the development of automotive compute hardware for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Prior to this role, Soheil was an Integration and Test Engineer at Argo AI, where responsibilities included the integration and testing of camera and LiDAR firmware for autonomous driving safety systems. With a strong foundation in protection and control systems design from positions at BBA and Nextgen Technologies Inc., Soheil also contributed to automotive manufacturing as a Weld Engineering Specialist at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and gained software development experience at Brock Solutions. Soheil holds a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Nanotechnology and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering, both from the University of Waterloo.
