Carrie Matthews has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Carrie started their career in 2008 as a Receptionist at CTIA - The Wireless Association and later became an Operations Coordinator. During their time at Women for Women International, they served as a Special Projects Assistant and later as a Strategic Initiatives Officer. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as an Operations Coordinator & Associate at FINCA International. In 2014, they joined Hamilton Place Strategies as the Director of Operations and Recruiting and eventually took on the role of Director of People Operations from 2017 to 2020. Carrie then worked at Accelevents, where they held different positions, including Director of Talent, Vice President of Talent, and Vice President of Talent & Operations. In 2021, they became a Supporter at Hue and a Resources for Humans Community Ambassador at Lattice. In 2022, they joined Knoetic | CPOHQ as a Member, and in 2023, they became the Director of People Operations at 10Pearls. Additionally, they have worked as a Course Instructor at the University of Maryland, teaching a course on academic transitions to internships.

Carrie Matthews attended the University of Maryland from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Government & Politics. In addition to their formal education, they have also completed several certifications. In May 2018, they obtained the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM. Later, in October 2021, they completed the "Leading with a Growth Mindset" certification from LinkedIn. Most recently, in April 2023, they obtained the "Cultivating a Growth Mindset" certification, also from LinkedIn.
